How can you pay less for phone, streaming and music subscriptions?

Whether you want to pay less for your phone package, your music and streaming subscriptions or save money on your studies, here are my 5 practical tips for paying less for your day-to-day subscriptions.

These money-saving tips apply to most subscriptions or service providers, such as Canva, Netflix, ChatGPT, Spotify, Microsoft 365, RedbySfr, Adobe, etc.

5 tips for paying less for your subscriptions

It’s the question that comes up time and time again: what solutions are there to help you pay less for your subscriptions?

There are real complementary ways of saving money. I’m sharing them with you so that you too can enjoy your subscriptions at a lower cost.

1. Analyse your active subscriptions

The first step in reducing your costs is to take stock of your current subscriptions. Here’s how to do it:

  • List all the services you subscribe to, and the monthly or annual cost of each.
  • Evaluate the use you make of each subscription and ask yourself whether you use it enough to justify the cost.
  • Check that you’re not paying several times for similar services and that you don’t have any additional options that add to the bill, such as extra services in your telephone package, for example – that’s the old classic 😉

By analysing your current subscriptions, you can identify those that are not essential and delete them. For the others that you keep, I present below some options for paying less for your subscriptions.

2. Get into the habit of comparing offers

This makes more sense for mobile and internet package subscriptions, bank subscriptions and any other binding purchase, so take the time to compare what the different competing suppliers are offering.
You can start by doing some research online to find the different offers, look at online reviews to see what other users think and sometimes take advantage of free trial periods that allow you to test before making a final choice.

3. Changes supplier regularly

Keep an eye on what the competition is offering from time to time, so that you can try to negotiate your offer with your current supplier, who may offer you discounts to keep you on.
Alternatively, you can always change provider/solution. The advantage is that there are often welcome offers for new customers.

You shouldn’t hesitate to look at your own provider’s new offers! In my case, I was paying €13/month for my RED mobile package, even though they’d been offering a similar deal for €9/month for several months. A simple message to customer services enabled me to change my package for this cheaper offer.

4. Use a cashback solution

Cashback is a super-effective way of reducing your subscription costs. Cashback allows you to receive a small amount in return when you make a purchase. So it’s not just for subscriptions, but for any type of purchase online or in certain stores.

The savings may seem trivial, but believe me, in the long run they add up pretty quickly.

Subscription offers are generally more attractive than traditional purchase offers. Igraal has categorised pages where you can compare offers by type: telephony, TV & internet, travel, fashion, sports, etc.

Subscriptions or not, I’d advise you to open an account with Igraal, it’s free and will allow you to save money without changing your spending habits! You can use my Igraal referral link to receive up to €5 in your initial pot.

5. Opt for shared subscriptions

You can split your bill by 2, 3 or more by sharing your accounts with other users such as family members, friends or colleagues. Provided that the subscription allows it and that everyone plays the game for the refund 😉

The best solution for paying less for subscriptions is still shared subscriptions, and more specifically GamsGo, which is an online platform offering shared or dedicated premium accounts at clearly unbeatable prices.

  • Cheapest subscriptions on the market
  • Over 50 platforms offered including Netflix, Spotify, Adobe, Canva, Disney+, YouTube Premium, etc.
  • Immediate access to accounts after purchase
  • 24/7 customer service

What savings can you expect on your subscriptions?

The savings you make by paying less for your subscriptions will of course vary according to the number of services you use. But let’s take a fairly common example of someone who uses the following 3 services (mobile package / films & series / music & videos):

Design sans titre 3

These great deals are quite remarkable, with savings of €254 over the first year on these 3 subscriptions alone, for the same services!

Paying less for subscriptions in a nutshell

As we have seen, you can reduce the cost of your subscriptions by following a few simple and effective tips:

  1. Analyse your current subscriptions
  2. Comparing offers
  3. Don’t hesitate to change supplier
  4. Opt for shared subscriptions
  5. Using a cashback solution

By following these 5 tips you can make significant savings and optimise your spending.

The most effective solution is shared subscriptions. The Gamsgo platform is very simple and secure to use. After payment, you receive instructions on how to connect to the account of the chosen service and enjoy the same features as a standard subscription. If there are any special features, Gamsgo details them on its website, and the customer service team is very responsive if you have any questions.

➡️ My Spliiit or Gamsgo comparison

The most common subscriptions you can save on with Gamsgo or Igraal include :

Using a VPN to pay less for subscriptions is a strategy that allows you to take advantage of lower rates by virtually changing your location. It also gives you access to content normally reserved for residents of those countries.

However, I don’t recommend this method, which can be risky because some solutions don’t allow the use of VPNs to pay less for subscriptions. The account opened may therefore be blocked if the terms of use are not respected. What’s more, a VPN represents an additional cost that does not guarantee the quality of the service it enables you to use.

In short, if you want to pay less for your subscriptions, legally and with a customer service that’s there when you need it, turn to Gamsgo.
