Netflix Premium currently costs €21.99 a month. I’ll show you how to access it from as little as €3, in 4K, ad-free and without using a VPN.
Since the last price rise, the cost has gone up across all subscription plans, and the basic plan now includes adverts. Netflix is also cracking down on account sharing, but there are still reliable alternatives for enjoying Netflix without adverts.
Not everyone can afford to pay more than €20 a month to watch their favourite series these days. And as this is holding me back too, I’ve looked into it and found the best ways to get a cheaper Netflix subscription!
I’d like to share a simple and reliable solution with you that I’ve been using for over three years, which allows you to access Netflix Premium at a reduced price starting from €3 a month (approx. €36 a year).

What has changed with Netflix subscriptions:
- Prices have gone up: the Standard plan with adverts has risen from €5.99 to €7.99, the Standard plan from €13.49 to €14.99, and the Premium plan from €19.99 to €21.99.
- Netflix has integrated TF1: since June 2026, the TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI channels have been available to watch live via the Netflix app in France, at no extra cost and regardless of the subscription plan.
👉 Netflix now offers more content than before, but the price has gone up across all subscription plans. All the more reason to find an alternative so you can get Netflix more cheaply!
6 ways to pay less for your Netflix subscription
When you’re on a tight budget, such as a student budget, you’re often on the lookout for a cheap Netflix subscription – and, more generally, for ways to pay less for your subscriptions! I know this because these tips really helped me several years ago.

Spliiit and Sharesub: other co-subscription platforms
There are other popular subscription-sharing platforms, such as Spliiit and Sharesub. They are French but do not work quite in the same way, as it is other users who share their accounts, which is not necessarily the case on GamsGo.
In terms of price, the difference is quite clear: Spliiit and Sharesub offer Netflix subscriptions for around €13 a month, which works out at almost two to three times as much.

Netflix included or discounted with its internet box
Free is the only provider to actually include a Netflix subscription as part of its package, via the Freebox Ultra. With Orange and SFR, it’s a monthly discount of €3 to €5 applied to your subscription, which you continue to pay for. Bouygues offers neither a Netflix subscription nor a dedicated discount for Netflix.
- The package included by Free is the Standard package with adverts, in 1080p. No 4K, no HDR, and ad breaks.
- The Freebox Ultra costs €49.99 a month for the first year, then €59.99 a month, so if you’re already with Free and have the Freebox Ultra, make the most of it; otherwise, there’s no point in changing your box just for Netflix!
Choose the ad-supported subscription
It’s not the best solution, I’ll grant you that, but Netflix has introduced a subscription option with adverts at a reduced rate (€7.99 a month, compared with €5.99 not long ago).
Although this option is cheaper, it does have its drawbacks: ad breaks that disrupt the viewing experience.
And we certainly agree that being cut off in the middle of a film or a TV series is very annoying and makes it feel like watching a film on the telly. What’s more, some premium features and content may not be available with this subscription.
Sharing your account with loved ones
Account sharing is another very popular way to reduce Netflix subscription costs. By splitting the cost with your family or friends, everyone can enjoy Netflix for less.
So it seems to be the ideal solution, except that Netflix has recently imposed restrictions on account sharing, notably by requiring users to be in the same household. This makes account sharing less convenient than it used to be.
👉 However, it is possible to add an extra subscriber from outside your household for Premium and Standard subscriptions; this costs an additional €6.99, plus a share of the basic subscription fee to make it fair – unless you’ve got some good friends 😉
Use a VPN
Using a VPN to access Netflix subscription prices in other countries might seem like a good idea, but:
- Netflix is taking steps to combat the use of VPNs and may block access to your account or restrict access to certain content if you are detected.
- Using a VPN may reduce the quality of your streaming due to connection speed limitations.
- The prices are very attractive, but you have to factor in the cost of the VPN.
👉 In short, I don’t recommend using a VPN to access Netflix because of the risks mentioned and because the cost of the VPN means it will still work out more expensive than using Gamsgo!
