How can you find a cheap Spotify Premium subscription? That’s the question every music lover is asking themselves so they can enjoy the best listening experience without paying over the odds.
And as I’m one of them, in this article I’m sharing my comparison of the six ways to get a cheap Spotify subscription in 2026 (including the ones that don’t work)!
Key points at a glance:
- Official price: €12.14 per month for Spotify Premium, or €145.68 per year
- The cheapest: €2.99 per month via GamsGo, or €35.88 per year (-75 per cent)
- It’s a genuine Premium account: ad-free listening, offline listening, lossless audio, etc.
- Before all that: Spotify is currently offering up to 3 months free if you’ve never been a Premium subscriber
- Pitfalls to avoid: VPNs (risky and not very cost-effective) and gift cards (which cannot be activated in France)

I’ve been paying €2.99 a month for my subscription for over three years now, on a genuine, official Premium account, so if you don’t want to spend more than €140 a year on listening to music, let me show you the different ways to pay less for Spotify:
Cheap Spotify: a comparison of the 6 options (2026)
Before we go into detail, here’s a comparison of the options that give you access to a genuine Spotify Premium account (which, by definition, is ad-free): what sets them apart is the price, reliability and the time it takes.
| Solution | Price per month | Reliability | Ease of use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. GamsGo ( my solution) | €2.99 | Very good | Very easy |
| 2. Duo or Family Plan | €3.54 to €8.60 | Very good | Requires finding partners |
| 3. Student offer | €7.07 | Very good | Easy |
| 4. VPN | approx. €2 + VPN cost | Poor | Difficult |
| 5. Cashback or promo codes | 1 to 3 months free + up to 6% | Good | Easy |
| 6. Gift cards | Not available | Poor | Difficult |
GamsGo: Spotify Premium from €2.99/month (my solution)
The only way to get a genuine, official Spotify Premium account at a low price – and in a 100 per cent reliable way – is to take out a Spotify subscription via the GamsGo platform.

GamsGo is a legal subscription-sharing platform. In the case of Spotify, it’s not actually a shared account! You’ll be the only user, which is a big plus in terms of convenience.
GamsGo lets you choose between taking out a personal premium subscription – which is yours for as long as you’re subscribed – or topping up your own personal Spotify account!
Share the cost with a friend or family member (Duo or Family)
Another relatively simple way to save money on Spotify is to share an account. With a Spotify Premium Duo or Family account, you can reduce the cost per person of your subscription.
Apart from the fact that the annual cost is still quite high (around €103 per year per person for the Duo plan), the main challenge is finding people in your household who are interested and keeping them on board so as not to drive up the cost per person – which is more complicated with a Family plan!
Sign up for the student plan at €7.07 a month
If you’re a student on a student budget, you can take advantage of the Student Plan, which lets you save money by paying just €7.07 a month instead of €12.14 a month.
Mind you, it’s only available for a limited time, and it’s still a bit pricey 😉 (around €85 in the first year).
Using a VPN
Paying less for Spotify by using a VPN to make it appear as though you’re in a country where prices are lower might seem like a good tip… but it isn’t. It’s an appealing idea, though, as Spotify charges very different prices depending on the country – for example, around €1.30 a month in India, €1.80 a month in Turkey or €1.90 a month in Argentina.
On paper, this is much cheaper than in France, but you need to take into account the complexity and potential complications involved, such as the additional cost of using a VPN, not being able to pay by credit card, the risk of your account being blocked, and so on.
Finding cashback or Spotify promo codes
There are very few, if any, Spotify promo codes. The only offers available simply involve creating an account to get 1 to 3 months free, which is just the standard Spotify offer.
As for cashback, you can get up to 6 per cent when buying a Spotify voucher on Widilo: this is only useful for trying out a few months’ subscription, but unfortunately it doesn’t represent a significant saving in the long run.
Buy Spotify gift cards
Cheap 3-month Spotify subscriptions that can be activated are what you’ll find when searching for gift cards via generalist sites in this market, such as dlcompare, g2a or eneba.
In most cases, the cards are unavailable or out of stock. The few I managed to find are sold at very low prices by third-party sellers with poor ratings. Upon checking, these low-priced cards cannot even be activated in France and would therefore require the use of a VPN!
The benefits of Spotify Premium
Upgrading to Spotify Premium offers several advantages over the free version, mainly in terms of listening comfort and handy features.
- Ad-free listening so you aren’t interrupted by adverts and can enjoy an uninterrupted listening experience.
- Offline access by downloading your playlists from Spotify so you can listen to them offline.
- Unlimited changes to tracks and playlists, so you can skip around as you please and discover albums in order – or not.
- Listen to tracks together, all at the same time, so you can have a laugh with your mates all at once 😉
- 12 hours of audiobooks per month are included in the Personal Premium subscription, but there are two caveats that are rarely mentioned: with the Family plan, only the account holder is entitled to them, and the Student plan does not include them at all.
- Last but not least: better audio quality with Lossless, which has been available on all Premium subscriptions since October 2025. Lossless quality (FLAC up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz) is therefore available on all plans: Individual, Duo, Family and Student. You simply need to enable it in the app: Settings → Audio Quality → Lossless.
Spotify Premium subscription prices
The price of a basic Spotify Premium subscription is now €12.14 a month, which works out at over €140 a year. That’s still quite a lot to pay just to listen to music – and we’re not even talking about playing an instrument!
| Spotify Premium subscriptions | Monthly price | Annual price |
| Personal | €12.14 | €145.68 |
| Student | €7.07 | €84.84 |
| Duo (2 accounts) | €17.20 €8.60 per person | €206.40 €103.20 per person |
| Family (6 accounts) | €21.24 €3.54 per person | €254.88 €42.48 per person |
| Via GamsGo | ~€3 ✔️ | ~€36 ✔️ |
Regardless of the type of account you choose, and even taking into account Spotify’s promotional offer of the first 1 to 3 months free on Spotify subscriptions, the price offered by GamsGo remains the best value. Generally speaking, it’s the best way to pay less for your subscriptions.
We’re talking about savings of over €100 a year compared to a standard Spotify account! That’s a discount of more than 75 per cent!

- The cheapest subscriptions on the market
- 100+ platforms including Netflix, Spotify, Adobe, Disney+, YouTube Premium, etc.
- Immediate access to accounts after purchase
- 24-hour customer service
How to buy a really cheap Spotify subscription on GamsGo
Dedicated account or top-up: GamsGo’s two options
GamsGo offers two ways to get Spotify Premium, which explains the differences in price that you might notice.
| 🔑 Dedicated account | 🔄 Top up account | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | GamsGo provides you with a personal Premium account | GamsGo tops up your existing account |
| Your playlists | To be re-imported | Saved |
| Login details to be provided | None | Yes, temporarily |
| Activation time | Immediate | A few hours |
| Price (12 months, with my code) | €2.99/month or €35.88/year | €3.54 per month , i.e. €42.48 per year |
The second factor, which has a slight impact on the price and explains why you might see ‘Spotify for €3’ with some providers and ‘Spotify for €4.50’ with others for the same service, is whether you want access to podcasts on Spotify.

My advice: if you already have a Spotify account with years’ worth of playlists and a well-oiled algorithm, go ahead and top it up – you’ve got nothing to lose, and you can change your password once it’s done. If you’re starting from scratch or if you’re uncomfortable sharing your login details, the dedicated account does the job perfectly!
Buy your Spotify subscription in 4 steps
1. Sign up to GamsGo for free and in no time at all using your Google account, for example:

My GamsGo referral link:
By signing up via my referral link, you can save 10 days on your first subscription
2. From the home page, select the Spotify subscription, then the option you chose in the previous step (dedicated account or top-up). Also select your subscription length: the longer the subscription, the lower the monthly price!

3. Complete the secure payment and don’t forget to use my promo code to get an extra 3–5 per cent off:
BUDGENIE

4. Log in to your Spotify account straight away: you’ll then receive an email containing your Spotify account login details. You can find this information under the ‘Subscriptions’ tab in your GamsGo account.

If you have chosen the top-up option, you will need to wait a little while after providing your login details, whilst the GamsGo service processes the top-up on your account.

In both cases, you’ll find that you do indeed have a Premium Personal subscription when you log in to the Spotify app:

If you already had a Spotify account, you can import your playlists into this new account and get your favourite music and podcasts back!
Conclusion: A quick look at affordable Spotify
I can only recommend that you use GamsGo if you’re looking for great deals to pay less for Spotify and your other subscriptions.
You’ll save hundreds of euros every year, whilst still enjoying all the benefits of Spotify Premium.

I’ve been using GamsGo for over three years for my Spotify, Netflix and ChatGPT subscriptions, which has saved me a tidy sum (over €600)!
In particular, you’ll find a really cheap Spotify subscription starting at €2.99 a month, but you’ll probably also find other subscriptions that you use and are surely paying far too much for.
Cheap Spotify Premium: yes, but that’s not all!
I’ve mentioned Spotify to you, but you should know that GamsGo now offers over a hundred popular subscriptions at discounted prices, across a range of categories:
- Software : Duolingo, NordVPN, Proton VPN, Autodesk, CapCut Pro, Adobe, Envato Elements, Strava, QuillBot, etc.
- AI : Perplexity, ElevenLabs, Cursor, Midjourney, Gamma, Claude, Notion, etc.
- Music : Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Premium, Tidal, Amazon Music Unlimited, etc.
- Streaming : Paramount+, Disney+, Netflix, FOX One, HBO Max, etc.

There’s even a marketplace for sharing subscriptions between users, a bit like Sharesub or Spliiit, which opens up more possibilities.
The advantage is that you can centralise several of these subscriptions on GamsGo, saving you a fair bit of money and making it easier to manage your payments.
